A deal breaker is something that makes you not continue with an agreement or relationship. A lack of honesty and open communication is a deal breaker for him. He won't be friends with someone who lies. And lastly, a great deal of something is another way of saying a lot of something. It's typically used with uncountable nouns. He spends a great deal of time lying on the sofa watching TV.
