If you're in good hands, you're being looked after by someone competent and trustworthy, like me! Your dog is going to be fine. She's in good hands at the vet's. If something is out of hand, it's not under control. His spending has got a bit out of hand. He needs to get better at budgeting. Hands down is an informal expression meaning definitely or without question. His restaurant is the best in the town hands down. Lastly, if you lend or give a hand, you help. I can't do this by myself. Can you lend me a hand? I've lent you a hand to learn these phrases. Now you've got to practise them!
